Brent grew up around boats, his family owned boats up to 30’ in Australia. After graduating High School, Brent worked in the hospitality industry as a hotel manager, he also volunteered as an honorary ambulance officer until he was recruited as a permanent ambulance officer where he climbed the ranks of an intensive care paramedic and middle management. During this time Brent was living in far North Queensland, Australia, on the Great Barrier Reef, where he worked with day charter boats, gaining the Australian Commercial Captain and Engineering Licenses.
Arriving in the USA in 2000, Brent worked in the Yachting Industry as a Captain, Deck officer and Chief Engineer on yachts up to 160 feet, spending time in Europe, Mediterranean, Bahamas, Caribbean, USA, Indian Ocean, SE Asia, the Pacific and Australasia. Brent continued his education obtaining his MCA Captain and Engineers Licenses, ISM/ISPS Auditors Licenses, Diploma in Marine Surveying, Masters in Science in Marine Surveying from Lloyds Maritime Academy in the UK.
Brent has been involved in many yacht refits in the capacity of Owner’s Project Manager, Captain and Engineering Officer worldwide prior to joining RMK Merrill-Stevens.
